VASCSC Wins National Award
Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC), Ahmedabad has received the prestigious ‘National Award for Outstanding Efforts in Science and Technology Communication’ for the year 2008.
VASCSC is the first institute in Gujarat to have received this prestigious award. This is the highest award to accolade the Centre’s contribution to science. The Centre has received the award for developing innovative science based teaching learning materials, pioneering Science Playground and activity room, developing interest in science through posters, competitions, exhibitions, in different states.
Shri. Dilip Surkar, the Executive Director, Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre received the National Award, certificate and shield on behalf of the Centre at the hands of Shri Kapil Sibal, the Honorable Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, in a ceremonial function organized on 27th February 2009. The National Award was presented by the Department of Science and Technology, RVPSP, Government of India. The function was organized on the eve of the National Science Day Celebration in the Raman Auditorium of Technology Bhavan, New Delhi. Many dignitaries graced the grand function.
